Children's Ministry

Children's Ministry Director: Angela Won

"Connecting to Christ, Community, and Calling." That's the mission of Life Connection Church and it is the same mission for our Children and Youth Ministries.

We believe that our children are a vital part of our congregation. So, we integrate them into almost every aspect of our church life, including singing and playing instruments on the praise team, teaching and discipling those younger than them, and local and overseas missions.

For age-specific teaching and activities, our ministry to children and youth is organized into three groups: Kindergarten-2nd Grade, 3rd-7th Grade, and 8th-12th Grade (our Teen Group). Our Pre-K group is paused due to the challenges of COVID-19. Based on these groups, we plan relevant activities and events that help to nurture children in their understanding of who God is and who they are in Him.

Children's "Church"

On two Sundays a month, after a combined family worship time, we have Bible-based lessons for each of our groups. We are currently walking through the Bible, God's inspired and inerrant word, from start to finish. Each group has age-appropriate teaching from our dedicated and creative team of teachers.

The schedule is:

  • Pre-K: not currently meeting
  • K-2: first and third Sundays
  • 3-7: second and fourth Sundays

The Infant & Toddler room is unavailable during the COVID-19 Pandemic as we cannot be assured of a sterilized environment.

We encourage families to follow the teaching lesson schedule so that they can reinforce the lessons at home.  Since all the age groups are following the same Scripture outline, families can have a group discussion that involves all the children and youth.

Youth Fellowship

Every other week, our High School Group gets together on Sunday evening at 6:30-8:00 pm at Pastor Bill's for a time of fellowship including a brief biblically-focused lesson, games, food, and time to relax and get to know one another.

Other Events

Of course, we also enjoy other events with our children and youth to help them connect with Christ, community, and calling. Some past and future events specifically for them include a backyard camp out, a day at a local corn maze, visiting the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C., participating in youth conferences, and serving in local and global evangelism and outreaches. In addition, as a multigenerational church, we strive to keep our young people in mind when we plan events that are primarily for our adults.
